Wonderful experience to experience pure natural untouched beauty. There is no other experience tour company and the island is not commercialized at all. Which adds to the beauty!!! Get on to the mule and enjoy a piece of nature on your finger tips!! The views are better than any other island on Hawaii !!!!
The tour was a lot of fun. The price is kind of high though at $210 to ride a mule and I think $80 to walk. If you have the money ride the mule! The tour is about 6 hours. It take about 90 minutes to get to Kalaupapa and about 60 minutes to get back up. Don't worry too much about getting there at 7:45 we didn't start until 8:30.
Mules and staff were awesome. Our guide on the bus tour was so much fun, he sang several times and made the bus trip worth it. His personality and knowledge was a 10! The bus tour portion itself was much longer than expected and a we would have preferred it to be much much shorter. The mules were our favorite part.
Had an amazing time during this mule ride! The guides were incredibly helpful and patient for people who had never been on a mule before. The views are breathtaking and the experience is like none other. I would recommend this ride to anyone who wants to see Kalaupapa National Historical Park!
Not for the faint hearted. This was so much fun. The tour of Kalaupapa was informative and very enjoyable. I would do again. Don't miss this.
